London Bridge attack: Former prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has arrived home cautiously from the London Bridge area of the shooting.
Nawaz Sharif was on his route to an appointment at London Bridge Hospital Friday midday when the police sealed the area near the hospital because of the shooting. Hassan Nawaz Sharif affirmed that he persuaded his father to return rather than trying to reach the hospital.
Nawaz Sharif was only 5 minutes apart from the hospital when police locked down the area.
Fortified police ostensibly shot dead a man flourishing a knife on London Bridge as people were seen running aside from the scene.
Eyewitnesses told there seemed to be a fight on the southern side of the bridge with various men hitting another man shortly after 2 pm today.
Who was the London Bridge Attacker?
A BBC reporter told he could notice a man lying on the ground but the situation was ‘ongoing’.
“There seemed to be a fight going on on the bridge, from what I could understand, various people attempted to control a man and it was then that armed police came and they fired shots at this person,” BBC reporter told.
“The last I could recognize before we were moving from the bridge was lying on the ground.”
Further, he told “since we’ve been moved back, I’ve heard scarce more shots fired as well. So at this time, it seems to be a developing situation.’
British Transport Police stated the London Bridge site has been closed.
The force tweeted:
“We are conscious of an incident at London Bridge and are supporting our associates at the Metropolitan Police. London Bridge site is currently closed and trains are none stopping. Please check with the Metropolitan Police for further updates.”
