Mendip District Council, which incorporates the festival’s Somerset location, approved the license, supporting up to 50,000 people to escort the event.
Glastonbury organizers have achieved a license for a one-off performance this September after the main festival was halted for a second year.
It does not ensure that a show will set in September but means the first obstacle has been cleared.
Emily Eavis recently announced the NME the show would be called Equinox.
The seasonal Glastonbury Festival usually takes place in June and attracts 200,000 people toward this event.
Eavis told that the aimed autumn show would be a larger version of the yearly Pilton Party, which Glastonbury runs as a “thank you” and fundraiser for workers, villagers, and other local people.
“We conclude that every September, but it will just be huger and the public can come down,” she said.
The show is not supposed to be approved for various weeks, with organizers keen to eliminate a situation where they state a show, only to have to withdraw it again.
If it arranges to go ahead, it will be a one-day show, although the primary application had submitted a two-day show.
According to the circumstances in the license, the gig would be held individually on the Pyramid Stage, with no camping permitted, and the 50,000 capacity would include the public, staff, performers, and crew.
Authority was allowed days before the Glastonbury site entertains a global live-stream concert, with shows from Coldplay, Haim, Jorja Smith, Wolf Alice, George Ezra, Michael Kiwanuka, and a yet-to-be-announced special guest.
The ticketed show will “help to ensure the festival’s return in 2022”, organizers said.
