Israel’s Attack on Gaza hospital

The spokesperson for Gaza’s health ministry reported that on Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike resulted in a significant loss of life at a hospital in the Palestinian enclave. In contrast, Israel contended that the explosion was caused by a barrage of Palestinian attacks.
The casualty count marked the most significant loss of life in Gaza during the ongoing conflict, prompting demonstrations in the West Bank, Istanbul, and Amman.

Mai Alkaila, the Palestinian Authority’s health minister, strongly condemned Israel, and accused the devastating incident at Al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital of “a massacre.” This tragic event resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives and unfolded during Israel’s relentless 11-day bombing assault on Gaza.

Surgeon Ghassan Abu Sitta, who was working in al-Ahli Arab Hospital, when it was attacked on Tuesday evening, posted a new comment on Facebook:

“We now know that the number of killed exceeds 500. This number will increase as I saw many dismembered bodies and parts of bodies as I carried the last patient into the ambulance past the courtyard.
“This was the most advertised crime in history. It was a massacre by appointment. The Israeli government has been openly saying it was going to target hospitals for the last week and the world just stood by and did nothing.
“The number of children who were killed exceeds 50 percent. I saw the body of a toddler who was missing a head… this morning the bombing continued.”
