On Friday FIFA Congress has endorsed Pakistan Football Federation’s permanent suspension.
Issues of the PFF ‘Pakistan Football Federation‘ were also addressed in the 71st Congress session of FIFA. Voting was held to secure the suspension of the Pakistan Football Federation.
209 members took part in the referendum out of which 5 votes were denied while 203 out of 204 votes were in favor of sustaining the suspension of Pakistan.
On the other side, a report announced by the spokesperson of the normalization representative told that due to the efforts of the NC, Pakistan was secured from further crackdowns.
Why FIFA suspend PFF?
The spokesperson stated the normalization FIFA Council could lift the ban. If Haroon Malik urged him to lift the ban once all issues had been handed over to him.
Earlier in April, the Bureau of the FIFA ‘Fédération Internationale de Football Association‘ Council barred the Pakistan Football Federation with instant effect due to third-party interception, which creates a serious violation of the FIFA Statutes.
According to the formal announcement by FIFA, this situation was prompted by the current hostile takeover of the PFF headquarters in Lahore by a crowd of protestors and an alleged decision by certain people to push the FIFA-appointed normalization committee of the PFF led by Haroon Malik and to hand over the power of the PFF to Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah.
As per the announcement, FIFA issued a ‘letter warning’ that, should the unauthorized occupation of the PFF headquarters not be raise and the office bearers recognized by FIFA not be authorized free access to the building to carry out their authority, the matter would be immediately submitted to the Bureau of the Council for decision.
FIFA announced that the suspension will only be raised once FIFA has received certification from the normalization committee of the PFF that the PFF’s premises, administration, accounts, and communication channels are again under its full authority and it can continue to move out its mandate without further interference.
